In 2013, the journey of Innovate or die started in Peurunka, Laukaa. The first universities participating the event were Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and University of Jyväskylä. 100 students from different fields attended the event and made the it all possible! Jyväskylä-oriented teams were solving five different cases. Four local companies and one nationwide company, Hartwall.

The winning team of case Aava & Bang came up with something so intriguing, they decided to continue the research and as a result, wrote a book about it: Hilliaho, Lauri & Puolitaival, Johanna (2015) Ilmiön kaava.

More and more companies are approaching advertising agencies in need of a campaign that would spread in the internet and social media like a wildfire. People are looking for so called phenomenal viral advertising. The challenge is: How and of what does a phenomenon form? How can a phenomenon be created?
